Why We Love It: We’re not sure why, but travel by train always feels so romantic. As you zoom past the rolling hills of Marin and Sonoma, it’s the perfect way to fall in love with the Bay Area. Best of all, it’s a more sustainable way to travel vs by car! Though not completely carbon-neutral transportation, riding SMART (instead of driving) can help you reduce the amount of greenhouse gasses released. There’s another benefit to not getting behind the wheel of a car. SMART can take you straight to Sonoma where a day of wine tasting can be carefree as you cycle or walk between a few key wineries then hop back on the train to head home.
