Coastal Loop Trail Marin

I love this trail because it’s located near the beach. There are also so many trails that can be accessed from this trailhead. It’s a short walk that is mainly flat and takes you amongst classic Marin foliage as well as provides sweeping views of the nearby sea.

Distance: ~2.55 miles (there are a variety of trail offshoots if you’d like a longer hike)

Parking: There is a fairly sizeable parking lot at the trailhead (Fort Cronkhite) but it can fill up fast on the weekends. Fortunately, there’s also street parking along the road, but we also recommend you carpool or consider biking in!

Bathrooms: There is a nice bathroom at the trailhead!

My experience with the hike: We originally wanted something a bit more intense, but everyone in the group had errands to run, so we decided this quick Sunday hike was for the best. It starts with a bit of an incline but then levels out and is downhill the rest of the loop. You can find the full blog recap here.
